Make it stand out

Naas Musical Society is delighted to announce its 2027 production of The Clockmaker’s Daughter, which will take to the stage of The Moat Theatre, Naas, from 6th–12th March 2027.

Following the success of its previous productions, Naas Musical Society is excited to embark on a brand-new theatrical adventure with this enchanting and captivating musical by Michael Webborn and Daniel Finn.

Set in the fictional Irish town of Spindlewood in the late 19th century, The Clockmaker’s Daughter is a magical story of love, loss, identity, belonging and the desire to discover what it truly means to be human.

THE STORY

Following the devastating loss of his daughter, master clockmaker Abraham Reed creates a remarkable clockwork girl in her image. He names her Constance and, when he winds her for the first time, discovers that she is far more than a machine. She can think, feel and dream.

Terrified that the outside world will discover his creation, Abraham insists that Constance remain hidden away. But Constance is curious about the world beyond her home and longs to experience life for herself.

When she finally escapes into the village of Spindlewood, her life changes forever. After an unexpected encounter involving a wedding dress, Constance begins to form friendships and discovers a talent for dressmaking. She also meets Will Riley, a young man who sees something special in her.

As Constance becomes increasingly involved in village life, Spindlewood begins to change but her secret cannot remain hidden forever.

When her true identity is finally revealed, fear and suspicion take hold of the town. As love, prejudice, jealousy and betrayal collide, Constance must face the consequences of being different in a world that does not understand her.

With a beautiful and evocative score, unforgettable characters and a story filled with heart, The Clockmaker’s Daughter is a moving musical about love, acceptance, courage and finding your place in the world.
